Ceramics
New Season of beginners ceramic workshops with Debbie Bent, our resident ceramicist. The first six weeks of this course is essentially instructionof the basics of construction. Slab work, coils, introduction into staining and slips. During this period all clay and firing costs are included in the £150.00 termly fee.The following weeks are for you to pursue your own projects. Further tuition in mould making, throwing, glazing and firing. During this Summer season, Debbie will also have a Raku and separate smoke firing evenings.
Drawing and Painting Courses
New season of painting and drawing course for the next year. Jean Picton and Sue Dean are both in full swing with some new dates. Sue's one day drawing taster day, is very popular. The day explores more the painterly reaction to the life model. Where Jean Picton, says don't ever say you can't draw, as after her course you will be well on the way, covering the basics, achieving a well proportioned peice and begining to understand the language.Jewellery
The Artshed Jewellery suite opened last September. The new suite is completely dedicated to many forms of jewellery. Not just silver, but bead making (lamp working), PMC precious metal clay (ART CLAY). The suite will be available for hire through the year on a hourly, weekly, monthly and termly basis.
