Our new fused glass course comes to you now on a Monday evening 7-9.30pm on the 21st, 28th January & 4th, 11th February.
This is a combined beginners and intermediate level course designed to progress your skills through a number of 4 week courses, building skills and knowledge in the fabulous art of kiln formed / fused glass.
Discover the art of fusing glass with experienced glass artist, Jessica Townsend-Melton.
Jessica will introduce you to the various techniques involved in creating fused glass pieces and guide you through the fundamentals of glass cutting, assembly, bubble trapping, introducing colour, inclusions, kiln firing basics and slumping.
You will have the opportunity to create your own designs in glass. This is a great introduction for beginners or artists working in other mediums to experiment with this art form. No previous glass experience is required for this course.
At the end of the course you will have produced pieces to learn techniques from, to keep & some to display in your home.
Because of the very nature of glass heating & cooling you will not be able to take any pieces home the same week that you make them, instead they will be fired & cooled & prepared for you to pick up the following week.
If students feel they have got the glassy bug & wish to continue to expand their knowledge Artshed Arts run continuation courses & drop in days at every level.
