PRIVATE THROWING ON THE POTTER’S WHEEL SESSIONS with our amazing Artshed potters!
This is a 2 hour session for learning the basics of throwing on a potter’s wheel.
The tutor is able to show you the process of throwing, the preparation of the clay and removal from the wheel. You can make as many pots as you wish and then get to keep 4 of the best ones for firing.
Items made will be fired and glazed in clear glaze, or you can come back at another time and decorate your pots using our selection of colourful glazes at a time that suits you (additional cost of £7 per pot). We will contact you when your items are ready to be collected approximately 21 days after your workshop.

This workshop is a great gift for someone and we can create a gift voucher – just let us know if it is for a present and we’ll set it up for you.
You are advised to have short nails for this activity as it is much harder to “throw” a pot on the wheel if you have long nails. Remove any rings, your watch and necklaces (if you are throwing) It’s also a good idea not to wear your best clothes as you might get messy! Aprons are provided.
Want to come along with a friend? We have two potters’ wheels next to each other so its a great experience to share! It’s only an extra £60 to bring another person, please call us to book for 2 people.
