PRIVATE THROWING ON THE POTTER’S WHEEL SESSIONS with our amazing Artshed Arts’ potters!
This is a private 2 or 3 hour session for learning the basics of throwing on a potter’s wheel.
We have two potters’ wheels next to each other, so its a great experience to share! If there are more than two people you will take turns on the wheels during the session.
The tutor is able to show you the process of throwing, the preparation of the clay and removal from the wheel. You can make as many pots as you wish and then get to keep the best ones for firing.
Items made will be fired and glazed in a transparent gloss glaze (included in the price), or you can opt to come back at another time and decorate your pots using our selection of colourful glazes at a time that suits you (additional cost of £7 per pot). We will contact you when your items are ready to be collected approximately 4 weeks after your workshop.

We offer this activity for between 1 and 7 people (prices shown are in total)
1 person: £120 (Duration 2 hrs – you will get to keep up to 4 pots)
2 people: £180 (Duration 2 hrs – you will get to keep up to 4 pots each)
3 people: £210 (Duration 2 hrs – you will get to keep up to 3 pots each)
4 people: £280 (Duration 2 hrs – you will get to keep up to 3 pots each)
5 people: £330.00 (Duration 2.5 hrs – you will get to keep up to 3 pots each)
6 people: £380.00 (Duration 3 hrs – you will get to keep up to 3 pots each)
7 people: £400 (Duration 3 hrs – you will get to keep up to 3 pots each)

This workshop is a great gift! We can create a gift voucher for you – just let us know if it’s a present and we’ll set it up for you.
You are advised to have short nails for this activity as it is much harder to “throw” a pot on the wheel if you have long nails. Remove any rings, your watch and necklaces. It’s also a good idea not to wear your best clothes as you might get messy! Aprons are provided.
