Family Experience – Throwing On The Potter’s Wheel

Come and have a memorable experience with all the family in this 2 hour Throwing on the Potter’s Wheel private workshop.

This is a 2 hour session for learning the basics of throwing on a potter’s wheel for all ages.

This experience is suitable for a family of four (2 adults & 2 children aged under 16) and you can add on up to 2 more children for an additional £15 each.

Your tutor will give a demonstration to show you the process of throwing on the potter’s wheel, the preparation of the clay and removal from the wheel. You will then throw one pot each.

Once you have dried your pots using a hairdryer, you will all have time to decorate your pots with our glazes (our tutor can provide lots of tips)

Items made will be fired and glazed in clear glaze so they are nice and shiny!

We will contact you when your items are ready to be collected around 21 days after your session.

CHOOSE A DATE AND TIME THAT SUITS YOU.

We have a number of time slots that are available on a regular basis, these are;

Mondays – 10:30am-3:00pm

Thursday – 2.00pm-4.00pm & 4:30pm-6:30pm

Friday – 5.00pm-7.00pm

Weekends and some weekday evenings are also available – please contact us to check availability.

This workshop is also a great gift for someone and we can create a gift voucher – just let us know if it is for a present and we’ll set it up for you.

You are advised to have short nails for this activity as it is much harder to “throw” a pot on the wheel if you have long nails. Remove any rings, your watch and necklaces (if you are throwing) It’s also a good idea not to wear your best clothes as you might get messy! Aprons are provided.
